KSFE Pravasibandhu Chitty Started; Subsidiary Company in Gulf in January

The finance minister of Kerala, Dr. T.M. Thomas Isaac, inaugurated Pravasi Bandhu chitty scheme of KSFE in an elegant function held at Kanakakunnu Palace, in Thruvananthapuram, on December 1. This is the fourth straight year that KSFE is launching this scheme, which offers plenty of special offers and prizes for NRIs and their relatives. Subsidiary Company in Gulf Region

Dr. Thomas Isaac said the subsidiary company for starting operations in the gulf region will be registered in January next year. The subsidiary company is expected to act as a window between KSFE and millions of NRIs who want to invest in the profitable and secure chit funds of the company.

He also emphasized the role that government undertaking like KSFE play in ensuring smooth functioning of the state’s treasury. He said that more than a thousand crores of Rupees is needed for the proper development and maintenance of the roads alone. Public sector undertakings, including KSFE, have a huge role to play in mobilizing fund for such development activities.

Why KSFE chitties are better than housing loans?

Not many people know that a long-term KSFE chitty is a wiser option than housing loans. When one takes a housing loan, the repayment period is over 10 years. Normally, the total amount (advance + interest) the subscriber repays would be double the loan amount. If you take 7 lakhs, you would be repaying close to 14 lakhs, unless you close the loan prematurely. One needs to provide the documents of the property in which the house is built as security for housing loans.

Now consider the case of a KSFE chitty that lasts for 100 months. Let us take a Rs. 10000 x 100 months chitty as an example. In this chitty 100 people can enroll and one person will get prize money each month. Normally, the prize winner is decided by the draw of lots for roughly about the first 40 months (after that, it would be bidding). The winner will get Rs. 7 lakhs. One can provide the documents of a property as security for getting the prize money. Or one can give other forms of security, such as personal surety of government officials, gold, fixed deposit certificates, LIC policies, or a combination of all these.

Another illustration is provided in the picture below.

The advantage is that you will have to repay only an amount between 8 lakhs and 8.5 lakhs (the total amount varies from chitty to chitty) after 100 months. Now do the math and find out how much money you save. Yes, that is right – you will save a minimum of 5 lakhs.

The liability arising from long term KSFE chitties is not only much lower than that of housing loans but it ends earlier too. Loans usually drag along for over 10 years. But a chitty will be over after 8 years and 4 months. And you will end up saving about Rs. 5 lakhs.

One question you might ask now is that why people are not joining chitties then. Who said they are not joining? Actor-director Sreenivasan and his multi-talented son, Vineeth Sreenivasan, are not the only ones to associate with KSFE. A number of people who know the secret behind KSFE chitties always join such schemes and tell their relatives and friends about it.

Now one might think about the timing. You get a housing loan within one or two months of submitting the application. But you will get a 100-month KSFE chitty only when you win the draw of lots. Isn’t that a problem? Well, we have solution for that too.

Sivanandan, Assistant General Manager of Thiruvananthapuram region, inaugurated the fully computerized branch in a simple function yesterday. He wished all success to the branch and urged the staff members to keep up the good work.

The branch automation process has been going on for the last two months. We are happy that we managed to complete the data entry process just in time. We take this opportunity to thank the IT Department of KSFE for their whole-hearted cooperation.

Ours is only the second computerized branch in Chirayinkeezhu Taluk and the thirteenth in Thiruvananthapuram district. Needless to say, branch automation will help us to provide quicker and better service to the customers. For us, it is yet another step in the process of improving customer relations.

Chitties of Rs. 500000, Any One?

We, at KSFE Attingal Evening branch, are planning to launch two chitties with a total amount (sala) of Rs. 500,000/- each: Rs. 20000 x 25 and Rs.5000 x 100.

Rs. 20000 x 25 – Rs. 500000/-

This is a short-term chitty. It will be completed by just over two years (25 months, to be precise). This is ideal for those who want money urgently (or say, within a year or so). If you can wait for 10 or 12 months, you can avail a prize money of more than Rs. 450000/-.

The installment for the first month is Rs. 20000/-. From the second month onwards installment amount will vary from Rs.15000/- at first to Rs.20000/- in the last few months.

This is an excellent investment scheme for NRIs and businesspersons. Please get in touch with us if you are interested, as we need five more numbers.

Rs. 5000 x 100 – Rs. 500000/-

This is an all-time favorite KSFE chitty. (However, if you want to avail prize money within a year, please join the five-lakh-chitty of 25 months.). This is more suitable for those who want to save money.

This chitty has duration of 100 months. The first month’s installment amount is Rs. 5000/-. From the next month onwards, you need to pay only Rs. 3750/-, normally for just over 40 months. If you win the chitty in these months, you will get a prize money of Rs. 350000/-. The winner is decided by draw of lots.

If you win the chitty and deposit the prize money as a fixed deposit (FD), you get Rs. 2479/- as monthly interest at the current interest rate. You have the option of transferring the interest to the chitty. That means you will have to pay only Rs. 1271/- (3750 – 2479) per month for the first 40-odd months.

1. What are KSFE chitties?

Chitties (also known as chitty, chit funds, chitti, or kuri) are a multi-purpose monthly investment scheme. KSFE chitties are the only safe and reliable chitty investment option in Kerala. There are scores of private chitty companies in Kerala. Unfortunately, many of them are fly-by-night operators.

3. Can I remit money from abroad?

Yes, you can. The conventional method is to send money via checks or demand drafts.

You may also make online transactions. For that, you should have a bank account from which you can make online transaction to Indian banks (for example, NEFT facility, which most of the Indian banks offer these days). Please get in touch in with us for more details.

4. Can I make online transactions?

KSFE has not yet made any special arrangements for online transactions on its own. However, you can still make online payment. Get in touch with us for more details (see the question above).

5. What are Ponnona chitties and Pravasibandhu chitty?

KSFE has been launching these two special schemes over the last three years. The chitties during special schemes offer additional benefits to the customers in the form of prizes and privileges. The basic idea behind the schemes is to share the company’s profit with the customers.

Ponnona chitty

Ponnona chitties are launched during the time of Onam. The prizes of this scheme include cars, motor bikes, and gold coins and privileges include enhanced interest rates for fixed deposits, insurance protection, and special loan schemes.

Pravasibandhu chitty

The pravasibandhu chitty scheme is normally launched in November. The prizes include cars, flight tickets to Dubai, and gold coins. The privileges remain the same as that of ponnona chitty.

In other aspects, the chitties of these schemes are like any other KSFE chitty.
